Dem talk say na Tuesday wey the fire start, and by Wednesday, the Chairman of state Fire Services Agency, Mr. Moroof Akinwande, don confirm the palaver. E talk say dem receive call from Alhaji Mufutau Badmus wey be Saki Branch Chairman of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria. Na him first report the fire incident.
Firemen wey dey led by Mr. Kolade Taiwo rush go the scene once dem hear the news. When dem reach, the filling station don already turn to inferno. The DAF tanker wey get 50,000 litres of petrol, one Bajaj motorcycle, and three fuel dispensing pumps don all catch fire!
Luckily, the fire service personnel sabi work, dem quickly quench the fire before e go scatter everywhere around. Akinwande give shout out to the Ofiki Division personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps wey dey help with security during this koko. Na wetin dem dey call teamwork!
Akinwande also don advise all filling station owners make dem dey take fire safety guide serious, no be only for mouth. E go beta make dem sabi wetin to do so e no go happen again. Just last week on January 9, another fire don happen, wey destroy plenty property worth millions, after explosion happen for power house of another filling station for Kishi area. Dis tin no be joke!
