Na wah o! Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan don dey vex big time over di detention of 52 students wey dem arrest for Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. E no go sweet person to see young people wey just dey speak their mind about security matters locked up like say dem be criminals. Dis kind wahala fit make anybody lose hope for dis country.
As she talk am for one statement wey she drop, Natasha don demand say make dem free di students sharp-sharp! She no gree hold back as she talk say wetin dem do no make sense at all. Na protest over kidnapping and security wahala for Edo State wey land dem for dis gbege wey we dey talk about.
She talk say, “Dialogue, not detention, na di way we go fit see peace and progress. Our youths no suppose be criminals because dem dey protest about wetin dey affect dem. Dis na serious matter!” Na serious matter she dey talk because if we no fit protest, wetin be di essence of democracy wey we dey claim we get?
Natasha no just dey call out dem state authorities for nothing. She dey urge dem make dem focus well on wetin dey cause wahala for Edo State, like di kidnappings and all di security problems wey dey happen. She no wan hear say dem dey target di people wey dey try to raise awareness instead of solving di real issues wey dey affect citizens.
“If dem silencing di students, na only wahala we go get. E go just increase di mistrust wey dey between di government and di people. Wetin we need na engagement and proper talk, no be detention” she add.
As di gist go, e don clear say Natasha dey stand gidigba with di students and their families. She dey represent dem for ways wey true leaders suppose dey do am, showing say she dey fight for justice and empowerment for di youths. Na so e suppose be!
Di National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) sef don come out to drop dem own side for di matter. Dem condemn di detention as nonsense and talk say nobody suppose face wahala for just peacefully protesting. Wetin dem dey do na serious embarrassment for our democracy.
Last-last, na di Edo Police Command talk say di protest wey happen na im make dem arrest di students because some hoodlums come join inside and cause gbege. But wetin una expect, normal students dey protest, na di government suppose find solution to di wahala wey cause di protest, no be to just dey lock people up.
For dis matter, we dey urge all di relevant bodies to step up and ensure say dem support our students instead of treating dem like criminal. Dem go fit solve di security wahala if dem listen to di voices wey dey cry out for help. Make we keep di focus on di real issues wey dey affect us as citizens.
