Comet 3I/ATLAS Don Land for Earth Gists

My people, e don finally happen! Comet 3I/ATLAS wey don travel pass the solar system don dey near us small small. Dis comet don show face again after e hide behind Sun like person wey wan play hide and seek. Dem catch am with plenty fine images wey scientists snap with big telescope for Maunakea, Hawaii.

Dis 3I/ATLAS na the third interstellar comet wey everybody sabi. Dem use Gemini Multi-Object Spectrograph on top am make we fit see as e dey shine different colors like say na Christmas light. Last time we see am, hin dey show red color, but now na greenish hue don dey shine. Thanks to the gases wey dey evaporate as the comet dey hot!

Wetin dey cause dis change? Na the evaporation of C2, wey be molecule wey dey glow green. But wahala be say, nobody know how e go behave as e dey waka comot Sun vicinity. E fit still surprise us, because some comets dey like that jigsaw puzzle wey no fit solve on top wetin they go do.

Talk true, scientists don really dey put plenty effort to study this comet because e carry many secrets. As e dey dangle from the solar system, dem dey hope say e go provide clues to help us understand different star systems wey dey elsewhere. No be only that, dem dey check if e go burst or emit new gases as hin dey cool off. E be like say we dey witness something historic!

Bryce Bolin, wey dey lead the research, don yarn say: “No be lie o! Sharing the observer experience wey dey happen for this kind level no be just for scientists, e dey engage the public too. Na wetin Shadow the Scientists dey do, make dey bring young people into the science world,” he talk am with joy.

Make we no forget say this kind research na serious wahala, as e dey happen for I’oligam Du’ag and Maunakea too, wey mean plenty to the indigenous people wetin dey live there. We sabi say nature get story wey dey follow as we dey study space but we go still respect the land and culture wey dey ground.

Comet 3I/ATLAS go do hin closest approach to Earth on December 19, 2025. No be small matter, e go come within about 168 million miles! E no go fit see with naked eye, but astronomers dey hope say people go use telescope to catch glimpse of dis interstellar traveler. After e pass us, e go dey head straight for Jupiter until e waka out of the heliosphere forever. Na 2030s wey we go lose am for good.
