Di monsignor, Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin), na serious pastor wey sabi shout pass dem crowd wey dey do praise and worship. Na so wahala start when Wicks carry body land for altar when everybody dey worship. Di kill dey plenty mystery around am, and na Father Jud go carry una dey find di truth while him dey walk through big pastors wey get misplacement of priorities. E no easy for am o!
As di story dey unfold, we go see different characters wey get im own shadow, like di loyal secretary Martha (Glenn Close), di lawyer Vera (Kerry Washington), and even di local doctor wey dey hustle with in demonic sense. Each character get wetin dem dey hide, and di more dem try to cover am, di more wahala dey show.
No forget say Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) go come play im detective magic once again. Dis time wey e show face, e no just dey solve mystery; e dey bring light back into di dark world wey people dey live. Johnson wey direct am, sabi make each scene dey pop, clearer wetin e mean about faith and hypocrisy wey dey run for di fabric of society.
As di film take dey reflect on faith matter, Father Jud dey struggle to redirect his congregation away from di overpowering sentiment of Wicks. Wicks na di unfortunate representation of religious leaders wey no dey fear God but fear di power wey dey come from being powerful. Dem sabi use fear to hold people down, but Father Jud carry him tussle spirit come because e want dem to see di love and forgiveness wey Jesus dey preach.
Di film sabi crack joke here and there, especially as dem dey take p*** di rituals and essence of Catholicism. Rian Johnson no just drop Bible, e carry am come cinema for everybody to see say e dey reach beyond di cloth wey dey cover di church. Na so e take show how much literature fit shine light on all di contradicting messages wey people dey push.
Wake Up Dead Man na film wey go touch your heart; e dey laugh, e dey cry, e dey blend all di mystery and emotion wey dat one go dey easy for person to feel.
