The case no be small palava, as dem dey accuse these two女士 of collect N2,469,030,738.90 (yes, you hear am well!) from the Federal Ministry of Aviation. Dem say na through Broad Waters Resources Nigeria Ltd and Global Offshore Marine Ltd, dem carry out dis gbege in January 2014.
According to prosecution wey present for Justice Hamza Muazu eye, Oduah and Odita bin dey conspire collect this big money under false pretenses! (Omo, who send dem?) Dem claim say the money na for something dem dey call ‘Cost of Technical Supervision’ and ‘Security Integrated and Logistics Support Services’, wey dem sabi say no be true. Na wah!
For the first charge, prosecution talk say dem “agree amongst yourselves” to grab the suma wey be Two Billion, Four Hundred and Sixty-Nine Million and 30 Thousand, seven Hundred and Thirty-Eight Naira, Nine Kobo (₦2,469,030,738.90). Dis one no sweet at all.
For Count Two, dem alleged say on January 13, 2014, di duo collect Eight Hundred and Thirty-Nine Million, Seven Hundred and Eighty Thousand, Seven Hundred and Thirty-Eight Naira, Nine Kobo (₦839,780,738.90) too, claiming say na for ‘Cost of Technical Supervision’ again. Na so di tin dey be.
Dem no stop there o! Count Three show say on February 12, 2014, dem collect ₦1,629,250,000 from di same ministry, claiming say na for ‘Security Integrated and Logistics Support Services’. Gosh! Wetin dey happen for aviation ministry sef?
Oduah wey dey mounsor, still carry em as Minister go carry our government money run with am. E be like say dem no use am well for di matter wey dem put for ya.
As di case dey go, both Oduah and Odita don plea not guilty. Their lawyers, Chief Onyechi Ikpeazu and Wale Balogun, don move make dem grant bail. Ikpeazu even talk say make di court free Oduah on self-recognition, as she don fly in from America just to face di court wey she don dey observe. Na big padi!
The Attorney-General of di Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, no dey oppose dis bail matter but he still ask make di court set date for hearing. Dis one no go easy at all o! Di judge don grant dem bail but dem go drop their passports for court, no travel till di case finish.
So, dem don adjourn di mata to February 12 and 13, 2026, we say make we dey watch as di matter dey unfold. E just dey clear say no matter how you chop money for government, one day e go catch up with you!
