211,000 Students Sit UTME Mock Exam; Results Drop Tomorrow No Be Joke!

Bwari, Nigeria — Over 211,000 candidates participated in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination Mock on Thursday, organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) across various Computer-Based Test centers in the country. JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, confirmed that the results will be unveiled on Friday.

“They will have the results tomorrow. We are working on their results now, but we want to compare with the second batch, the third batch, and see that everything is working well,” Oloyede stated while monitoring the exercise at a CBT center in Bwari, Abuja.

The mock exam is designed to assess JAMB’s preparedness for the main examination and to try out new strategies for enhancing the process. Oloyede emphasized, “The word is mock, and we want to say so far so good. As students are getting wiser, we are also getting better.”

He asserted that the key to passing UTME is hard work and expressed concern over candidates resorting to fraudulent websites to cheat in the examination. Oloyede noted that JAMB has created a decoy website targeting these individuals.

“We need to let the students know that the best way to pass the examination, especially UTME, is to study. Some rogue websites are asking people to pay for assistance, but it cannot work,” he cautioned.

Oloyede revealed that approximately 180 students have already paid into the decoy site, stating, “This is an infraction. We are going to deal firmly with them and cancel their results for both UTME and Direct Entry.”

He emphasized that candidates must not share their registration numbers with others, as JAMB registers students individually, thus preventing schools from inflating their scores. “Do not register by proxy. We are aware of the attempts to cut corners, and we are doing everything possible to stop it,” he stated.

Oloyede added that some candidates are spending around ₦30,000 for services that will not help them, showing disdain for such actions. “I smile when I see those who have paid these amounts,” he said.

The 2025 UTME is set to commence on April 25 at approved CBT centers nationwide, and Oloyede advised candidates to focus on their studies rather than fall prey to fraudulent activities.
