Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, don fix November 30, 2026 as final deadline for candidates wey still get outstanding admission offers from 2021 to 2025 admission exercises to accept or reject the offers.
Board warn say any candidate wey no act before that deadline risk losing the chance to accept or reject outstanding offers. Dem admissions go later revert to “Not Admitted” for JAMB records.
This latest extension come after temporary disruption of Central Admissions Processing System, CAPS. The platform no dey available for about 96 hours, and e prevent some candidates from accessing their admission records.

Board warn say any request after that to change such admission records go attract applicable penalty fee. E note say the offers don remain outstanding for several years.
JAMB urge candidates whose admissions no reflect on matriculation list to act immediately. Board warn say failure to regularise their admission records fit affect access to benefits wey dey come with properly documented admissions, including participation in National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, scheme.
According to Board, candidates wey accept outstanding offers go fit proceed to print their admission letters. Those wey reject go get their dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted.”
JAMB talk say the process go enable am update its records and make sure national admission database accurately reflect candidates’ current admission status.
Board also clarify position of candidates wey no longer dey study for institutions where dem previously get admission offer, or wey currently dey enrolled in programmes different from wetin dey inside old admission offers. Such candidates, e talk, fit accept outstanding admission and later apply for appropriate correction or deletion of previous admission, where e apply, so Board go properly update their records.
Similarly, candidates wey currently pursue second degree but still carry unaccepted admission offer from earlier admission exercise fit reject old offer and continue with current programme.
JAMB further allay concerns among candidates wey get admission for 2026 admission exercise but still get outstanding offers from previous years. Board talk say such candidates fit reject earlier admission offer without affecting their 2026 admission.
Board say latest extension no be only to compensate for period wen CAPS no dey available, but also to give candidates final opportunity to indicate their decisions and enable Board maintain accurate and reliable national admission database. E urge all affected candidates to take immediate action rather than wait until deadline.
JAMB reiterate say all outstanding 2021–2025 admission offers wey remain neither accepted nor rejected by November 30 go automatically revert to “Not Admitted” status for its records. “Failure to accept an admission offer within the stipulated period may render the offer invalid,” Board warn.
Meanwhile, JAMB don restore Central Admissions Processing System, CAPS. Board announce this for weekly bulletin issued on Monday, say platform restore on Sunday, September 27.
Board urge tertiary institutions to speed up their admission processes to make up for time lost during disruption. “The Board consequently urges all institutions to immediately accelerate their admission processes to recover the time lost during the period of the disruption and ensure compliance with the admission deadlines agreed at the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions,” e talk.
JAMB say temporary disruption caused by administrative challenge involving its hosting organisation. Board talk say e work with relevant service providers to restore and stabilise platform, while e apologise to candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for inconvenience.
Board urge institutions to intensify admissions and advise candidates to promptly accept admission offers made to them. E recall say 2026 Policy Meeting agree say admissions for 2026/2027 academic session should be concluded within specified deadlines.
According to JAMB, public universities expected to conclude admissions by October 31, private universities by November 30, while other tertiary institutions get until December 31.
Board urge public universities to intensify admissions following release of 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination results by National Examinations Council, NECO. E talk say release of results don provide institutions with information needed to process more admissions before October 31 deadline.
JAMB also advise candidates wey bin dey wait for their NECO results to upload or verify their results on appropriate platform. E assure stakeholders say e go speed up consideration and approval of admission recommendations wey institutions submit through CAPS.
Board say e also dey work to make system more stable by introducing alternative systems and arrangements to minimise effect of future disruptions.
