Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan‘s former Prime Minister Imran Khan, don dey free again after dem release her from Adiala Jail on Thursday. Dis happen nearly nine months after dem arrest her and her husband in connection with some graft and illegal marriage cases.
According to reports, Bushra Bibi was convicted in January for graft and selling state gifts illegally, alongside her husband. However, the illegal marriage case against her collapse on appeal, and her graft sentence was suspended, allowing her to get bail and leave the jail.
The chairman of Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Gohar Ali Khan, talk say Bushra Bibi dey travel to her house in Islamabad after dem release her. He say, “Dem keep her in jail to put pressure on Imran Khan,” and he thank God and all PTI supporters for her release.
Imran Khan and his wife were found guilty of selling gifts worth over 140 million rupees ($501,000) that Khan receive as prime minister from 2018 to 2022. But dem deny all the allegations, saying the government fabricate the charges to target Imran Khan.
Imran Khan still dey in jail on other charges, including corruption and leaking state secrets. He has been in several legal battles since dem remove him as prime minister in 2022.
