AC Milan don finally get their first win for dis year’s Champions League campaign, thanks to Tijjani Reijnders wey score two goals against Club Brugge. The match end 3-1 in favour of Milan at the San Siro stadium.
Reijnders, wey be Netherlands midfielder, score his two goals in the 61st and 71st minutes. Before him score, Milan dey struggle to deal with Brugge, who level the score through Kyriani Sabbe six minutes after the break. Christian Pulisic score the first goal for Milan straight from a corner kick in the 34th minute.
Brugge play with 10 men for most of the match after Raphael Onyedika receive a straight red card in the 40th minute for accidentally stamping on Reijnders’ ankle.
Reijnders’ goals almost get overshadowed by a beautiful late header from 16-year-old Francesco Camarda. Though Camarda’s goal get ruled out for offside, the young player celebrate like he just make history as the youngest goal scorer in Champions League history.
The win be very important for Milan because dem go face Real Madrid in their next Champions League match. Anything less than three points at San Siro could put their qualification for the knockout phase at risk.
The match also see a low turnout of fans due to protest over high ticket prices. Only 58,649 people show up, compared to the usual over 70,000 fans that pack the stadium for Serie A matches. The fans, especially the hardcore ultras, stand in silence to protest the high ticket prices which dem claim favour “rich foreign tourists or casual fans”.
