Trump Don Hammer British Windmills, Say Make Oil Drill for Cheaper Energy!

LONDON, U.K. — U.S. President Donald Trump don criticize UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Friday, May 23, 2025, for di government’s emphasis on wind energy, urging dem to focus more on drilling for oil in di North Sea. Dis statement come just weeks after two leaders seem to rekindle dem “special relationship” with a new trade deal.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump say: “Our negotiated deal with di United Kingdom is working out well for all. I strongly recommend to dem, however, say in order to reduce di energy costs, dem should stop di costly and unsightly windmills and incentivize modernized drilling in di North Sea, where large amounts of oil dey wait to be taken.”

He further emphasize say di North Sea get “a century of drilling left, with Aberdeen as di hub.” Trump claim say di UK’s “old-fashioned tax system” dey disincentivize drilling, adding dat if oil extraction improve, “Energy costs go down WAY DOWN, and fast!”

Di president dey make no secret of di fact say he no favor wind energy, previously ranting about “big windmills” dat “destroy everybody’s property values and kill all di birds.” He even talk say wind turbines fit ruin energy supply when di wind stop blowing: “All of a sudden, it stop; and your wives and husbands go dey vex because dem no fit watch television.”

Trump also been engaged in long-running campaign against plans for wind turbines near his golf course in Aberdeenshire, which he claim would spoil di view. In 2019, his company was ordered to pay almost £250,000 to di Scottish government over a dispute concerning an 11-turbine wind farm.

On di other hand, Starmer’s Labour Party dey push to halt North Sea oil and gas production, shifting focus according to wind and solar power. Workers from di oil and gas sector don express concern say dem dey face a “cliff edge” for dem jobs as di country transition to cleaner energy.

Dis fit unlock hundreds of billions in private investment worldwide, creating jobs and economic growth.” He added say supporting new fossil fuel projects go send di wrong message, as renewables don become di cheaper alternative.

Di British government no fit respond to Trump’s remarks yet. Dem don announce consultation plans to make di North Sea part of di country’s clean energy future, emphasizing di need to balance existing oil and gas production with clean technology.
