Troops for Nigeria don show say dem kill 140 terrorists, arrest 135 suspects, and rescue 76 kidnapped hostages within one week. Dis information come from Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, during a briefing with journalists on Thursday in Abuja.
Buba explain say troops also recover 241 assorted weapons and 3,254 ammunition. Some of these weapons include 141 AK47 rifles, one PKT gun, two FN rifles, 17 fabricated rifles, 26 dane guns, and 42 AK47 magazines. Dem also get 2,016 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 970 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 33 rounds 7.62 x 54mm ammo, 76 rounds of 9mm ammo, and 113 live cartridges.
In di North East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai neutralise 43 terrorists, arrest 27 suspects, and rescue 25 kidnapped hostages. Buba also mention say 27 terrorists, including two adult males, 11 adult females, and 14 children, surrender to troops between October 16 and October 22.
In di North Central, troops of Operations Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke neutralise 21 violent extremists, arrest 61 persons, and rescue 24 kidnapped hostages. Dem also recover a cache of arms.
In di North West, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji neutralise 62 terrorists, arrest 29 persons, and rescue nine kidnapped hostages with recovery of a large cache of arms. Troops of Operation Whirl Punch also neutralise three terrorists, nab 36 suspects, and rescue 12 kidnapped hostages with recovery of a cache of arms.
In di South East, troops of Operation UDO KA arrest an IPOB terrorist leader and founding father of ESN group, identified as Pius Iguh, in a sting operation in Imo. Another IPOB terrorist commander, Emmanuel Onwugu, was also arrested in Abia.
