Troops Kill Four Terrorists, Rescue Kidnapped Victims for Nigeria

Troops from the Nigerian Army have recorded significant successes in their ongoing operations against terrorism and banditry across the country. In a recent operation, troops from the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) successfully apprehended three individuals suspected of collaborating with terrorist groups.

In another operation, troops foiled a ransom pickup attempt by bandits in Mai-Iddo village, Kaduna State. During the encounter, two bandits were killed, and four abducted victims were rescued. The bandits were attempting to collect N1.5 million in ransom for the abducted individuals.

The Defence Headquarters also reported that troops in the Northern parts of the country killed 96 terrorists and arrested 227 suspects in one week. Among those arrested was a terrorist commander identified as Usman Maisaje, who is a close associate of the wanted high-profile terrorist leader Kachalla Boka. Maisaje has been cooperating with the troops, providing valuable intelligence for further operations.

In addition to these successes, troops rescued 157 kidnapped hostages and recovered crude oil worth N712 million in the South-South region. They also arrested 45 perpetrators of oil theft and destroyed various illegal refining sites and equipment.

These operations highlight the ongoing efforts of the Nigerian military to combat terrorism and banditry, ensuring the safety and security of the populace.
