Toke Makinwa, one of Nigeria’s popular media personalities, has come out to address the recent rumors circulating on social media about her getting married again. The rumors suggested that she had secretly married a man named Farouk Umar.
Toke Makinwa has categorically denied these rumors, emphasizing that she is not getting married. According to her, the recent celebrations were just a thanksgiving for her birthday and not a wedding ceremony.
This clarification comes after another celebrity, Dorcas Shola Fapson, also known as Ms DSF, initially fueled the rumors by suggesting that Toke Makinwa was planning a secret wedding. However, Ms DSF later retracted her statement, confirming that there was no wedding.
Toke Makinwa also took the opportunity to reflect on her resilience after her divorce from her ex-husband, Maje Ayida. The couple got married in 2014 but faced significant turmoil in their relationship before eventually parting ways.
