President Bola Ahmed Tinubu don tell Nigerians say dem now get choice between buying petrol at N1,000 per litre or Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) at N200 per Standard Cubic Meter. Him make dis statement during meeting with executives of Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company (NIPCO) at State House in Abuja.
Tinubu emphasize say him administration dey push for cleaner, more affordable fuel options for Nigerians. “Nigeria’s motorists can buy petrol at N1,000 per litre or equivalent gas per Standard Cubic Meter at N200,” Tinubu say. “We have also introduced incentives for commercial motorists to convert from petrol to gas, free of cost.”
Dis move be part of Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), which aim at reducing country’s reliance on petrol while promoting use of CNG as alternative fuel source. Tinubu praise NIPCO’s role in supporting dis initiative, noting say company’s investments align with him administration’s energy diversification strategy.
NIPCO’s director, Mr. Ramesh Kasangra, thank Tinubu for government’s steadfast support of CNG sector. Him express NIPCO’s commitment to working closely with government to expand CNG infrastructure, ensuring say CNG become viable and accessible alternative for Nigerians nationwide.
Tinubu also stress importance of public-private partnerships in driving Nigeria’s energy transition and reaffirm government’s commitment to creating conducive environment for private-sector investments. “Our administration is focused on expanding Nigeria’s CNG infrastructure to enhance energy efficiency and stimulate economic growth,” Tinubu remark.
