According to reports from Channels TV and Daily Trust, the other ministers wey lose their jobs include Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism; Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education; Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development; and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development.
Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye’s tenure as Minister of Women Affairs no be without controversy. She face backlash for threatening to jail the victim of a sexual harassment case at the University of Calabar if dem find out say the victim dey lie. She also spark outrage when she suggest say children should produce everyday items like toothpicks and sanitary pads to boost urban development, which many see as endorsing child labour.
The presidency announce the termination of their appointment during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday. President Tinubu thank the outgoing ministers for their service and express his confidence that the new and reassigned ministers go deliver on the administration’s priorities for Nigeria’s growth and development.
Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, formerly Minister of State for Police Affairs, now take over as the new Minister of Women Affairs. Other new ministers nominated for confirmation include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad.
