Tinubu Government and ASUU Clash: Na Who Sign Agreement?

Abuja, Nigeria – E be like wahala don land again for education sector as ASUU no dey gree make matter rest. On Thursday, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, come out to chop talk, say dem no sign any binding agreement with Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). Na so e be, my people! How we go fit handle dis palava?

According to Alausa, wetin ASUU dey call agreement, na just proposals wey dem carry come meet government. No be small confusion though; I mean, make we de reason am. Na proposals wey never see light na im dey affect our lecturers’ bread and butter? Too much drama for one matter!

The minister yarn say Bola Tinubu administration dey committed to fix all dis wahala wey dey cause ASUU strike like am dey our daily bread. E even mention say dem don drop N50 billion, wey be fresh cash, to settle some of the allowances wey dey hang for lecturers’ neck. But ASUU still dey clamour for improved salaries, better conditions, and proper funding. E be like say dem dey ask wetin dey heavy for pocket.

Alausa no gree hide wetin dey happen, e say dem hold high-level meeting with plenty ministers including the Minister of State for Education and the Solicitor General of the Federation. Na big boys wey dey matter join for this rendezvous! Dem come state say, “We wan run am clean this time, any agreement wey we go sign go dey actionable and implementable. No more play play!”

Meanwhile, ASUU president, Prof. Chris Piwuna, no take all dis matter lightly. E come reply say, “Dis one wey Dem Government dey talk show say dem no sabi keep records well at all. Sometimes e dey wonder if dem dey pass correct files from one oga to another.” (How we go fit trust dem to improve education when dem no fit even track wetin don happen before?)

Of course, Nigerians dey watch closely. Dem dey expect see proper turn around for students wey just wan learn without all dis palava. ASUU and government gatz come together like pounded yam and egusi, make dem settle this matter once and for all! Na wetin we sabi wey fit solve dis problem before e turn to another headline wahala.
