Texas Schools Finally Show A-B-C, No More F-ing Around!

AUSTIN, Texas – August 15, 2025 — The Texas Education Agency (TEA) don scatter 2025 A-F Accountability Ratings for public school systems and campuses all over the state. E be like say finally, we fit see how our schools dey perform after two years wey lawsuit hold things down (thanks for nothing, legal drama!).

Commissioner Mike Morath blow trumpet say today na victory for transparency and accountability. With these fresh ratings, families and school leaders fit track how their schools dey hustle for excellence (or dey slack like lazy students during exam period).

For 2025, 1,208 districts and 9,084 campuses get their grades. Compared to last year, 24% of districts and 31% of campuses don improve their letter grades. But no forget say most schools just maintain their positions while only about 15% waka backwards (like person wey no fit follow trend).

In this rating game, we still see say 43% of high-poverty campuses receive A or B. Na confirmation say poverty no be destiny; e just dey like how you manage your resources and leadership style (no be ideology matter). The A-F Accountability System wey begin in 2017 help schools show wetin dem dey do well and where dem suppose focus attention to shine for di future.

The accountability ratings help educators find areas wey need imrovement fast-fast, so dem no go waste time dey juggle with failure. Morath talk say dem balance rigor, fairness, and transparency, all to make sure students get high-quality education wey go prepare dem for after school success (seriously, nobody wan finish school and dey look for job like salt seller).

A lot of school districts dey score higher now; for College Station ISD, dem don upgrade from B to B (83 out of 100), while Bryan ISD dey chill with C (76 out of 100) after climbing from C last year. Everybody dey praise their teachers and support staff for all di extra hours wey dem don put to help students achieve their goals (no be small matter!).

But no vex for those wey still dey struggle, ’cause Waco ISD still dey hold D since 2023; e dey drop like two point every year, na wetin dem dey say preventive measures fit change next year. As for Temple ISD, e get B (77) rating again; school make improvements wey fit show big difference (like small gains for local champ).

As we dey look ahead, this A-F rating wahala don bring more clarity and opportunities. Texas parents dey balance their schools’ performances with new alternatives like school vouchers wey fit drop $10,000 for private schools from 2026-27 school year (talk about big pas big!).

It no easy for some schools, especially those wey dey battle dem ratings for years. TEA talk say schools wey dey high-poverty areas fit still shine bright; dem ready to show say our kids fit succeed if leadership correct (na true!). Na so dem dey burst our bubbles of excitement and anxiety at the same time.

Now make we enter the ratings for the Brazos Valley: You fit see how Anderson-Shiro CISD, Bremond ISD and others dey perform. Grades dey range from B to D. E go make sense if anybody fit check dem schools, cause e fit shift how community dey think about education.

Overall, this public school battle don show us say improvements dey happen, and accountability dun dey reign supreme. The Texas Education Agency promise to deliver more transparency and keep dem schools in check for the benefit of our children. No time to slack; we dey march forward!
