Na yesterday evening, team from Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) discover the fault wey cause power outage for many parts of Northern Nigeria. The fault dey on the Ugwuaji–Apir 330kV Double Circuit transmission line, and dem find am for Igumale area of Benue State.
According to Mrs Ndidi Mbah, General Manager Public Affairs for TCN, the fault area be one span, and dem find out say the 330kV transmission line snap inside swampy forest of Igumale. She say dem start make arrangement to move equipment and materials from Enugu Regional office of TCN to the site so dem can start repair work.
Due to the difficult and swampy terrain, TCN go need to move bulldozer and other materials to the site. A Hiab vehicle also go be moved to Igumale to help dem tension the transmission line properly.
The tripping of the transmission line cause power outage across North East, North West, and some parts of North Central regions since Monday, 21st of October, 2024. Previous attempts by two teams to locate the fault no succeed until Wednesday evening.
Mrs Mbah assure say TCN dey committed to addressing the situation and organizing necessary materials for the repair work. She appreciate the patience of the government and electricity customers in the affected states, asking dem to bear with dem as dem work hard to restore power supply.
