States Wey Dey Pay More Than N70,000 Minimum Wage

Some states for Nigeria don dey pay their workers more than the new national minimum wage of N70,000. According to recent announcements, several governors have decided to increase the minimum wage for their civil servants.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has approved an N85,000 minimum wage for civil servants in the state. This decision was made during a closed-door meeting with labour leaders and senior government officials, and it will take effect from November 2024.

Lagos State, under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has also announced that it will pay N85,000 as the new minimum wage. This move is part of efforts to better the lives of workers in the state.

Other states that have announced minimum wages above N70,000 include Delta, Adamawa, Edo, Borno, Ekiti, Cross River, and Ebonyi, although the exact figures for these states are not specified in all cases.

Kogi State, under Governor Ahmed Ododo, has also been mentioned as one of the states paying more than the N70,000 minimum wage, with a reported figure of N71,500.
