Real Madrid dey face serious regret over their decision to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain dis summer, according to Spanish journalist Romain Molina. Molina talk say na only Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, wey really want Mbappe, and now the club dey gutted with his performances so far.
Mbappe, who join Real Madrid on a free transfer, don score seven goals in 11 appearances across all competitions, but his overall performance no meet the expectations of the club. Molina say Mbappe’s physical drop-off at just 25 years old na something he never see before. “He didn’t have a pre-season, he played instantly, unlike Jude Bellingham. When you see how he is physically at 25, you can’t explain it to me,” Molina add.
Despite Mbappe’s positive outlook on his start at Real Madrid, saying “things are going very well” and “my performances are getting better and better,” the club’s management and players no dey happy with him. Molina also mention say Mbappe’s presence in the dressing room no dey great, though he say it no be Mbappe’s fault entirely.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, however, dey more optimistic. He say Mbappe dey nearing full fitness after recovering from a muscle injury and that the break help him improve his condition. “He’s taken advantage of the break to improve his condition, to recover from his injuries. His condition has improved a lot, he is very well, happy, eager to play tomorrow and to be important for the team,” Ancelotti say.
In addition to his on-field issues, Mbappe also face allegations of rape at a party he host in Sweden, which he publicly deny as “fake news.” This development cause Real Madrid to hold a crisis meeting, further complicating the situation around his signing.
