PDP don postpone their National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting again, and this time, dem say it’s to focus on the Ondo state governorship election wey dey come up on November 16, 2024. Dis decision na after dem hold emergency meeting for Abuja on Tuesday night.
The meeting, wey originally suppose hold on Thursday, October 24, now go hold on November 28, 2024. Dis be the third time dem dey postpone dis NEC meeting. Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, announce the postponement after dem meet with the National Working Committee (NWC) and the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party at the Bauchi Governors Lodge, Abuja.
The reason for the postponement be to ensure say the party go into the Ondo gubernatorial election with unity and strength, so dem fit unseat the APC government for the state. The meeting also call on all PDP members to shun divisive utterances that could undermine the party’s efforts to strengthen itself as the main opposition party in Nigeria.
Governors like Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers, Ademola Adeleke of Osun, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, and Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, plus other top party officials like Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and National Organising Secretary Umar Bature, all attend the meeting.
The PDP Governors’ Forum, Board of Trustees, National Working Committee, National Assembly Leadership of the PDP Caucus, and Forum of Former Governors of the party all participate in the meeting to resolve the ongoing crisis and prepare for the upcoming election.
