Oyo State Dash Certificates of Completion to 14 Communities for 28 Micro-Projects

Oyo State don dey celebrate as dem present certificates of completion to 14 communities across de state for completing de first 28 micro-projects wey dem fund for 2024. De Chairman of Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency, Abideen Adeaga, be de one wey present de certificates on Monday.

De communities wey receive de certificates include Lagbedu Orile in Ogo-Oluwa Local Government, Ajaawa, Olorunsogo-Ifesowapo in Ogbomoso North Local Government, Oremeji-Atolu-Idi Oro in Ona Ara Local Government, Ibadan, and many others like Irewolede community in Ogbomoso South Local Government, Abebi-Opo Yeosa-Ifesowapo community in Ibadan North Local Government, and Oorelope community in Oorelope Local Government.

Many of de communities focus on construction or renovation of blocks of classrooms with new furniture and VIP toilets, drilling of motorised boreholes, construction of community health centres with boreholes, and building culverts and lined drainages to control flooding.

Adeaga commend de 14 communities for their performance, saying dem complete de projects within de specified timeframe, use quality materials, and show commitment to maintaining de projects after completion. “I score de communities 85 per cent for de work dem do. It be testament to de fact that dem adopt these projects as their own from de moment dem were funded and commenced work,” Adeaga say.

De Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, also get praise for his support. Adeaga mention that Makinde approve another 28 projects after dis one and additional 132 micro-projects for 66 communities, which dem disburse last week. De Governor also increase de project fund from N15 million per Community Development Plan to N18 million to cushion de effects of current rise in material costs.

Adeaga also thank de World Bank, Federal Government of Nigeria, and other stakeholders for their support in community development efforts. He commend de resilience of de agency’s workforce for their excellent performance.
