Kano State High Court don adjourn the case against Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), and seven others over alleged bribery and misappropriation of public funds till November 20, 2024.
Ganduje, his wife Hafsat Umar, and other defendants including Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lasage General Enterprises Limited, dey face eight-count charge involving alleged bribery, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds wey reach billions of naira.
On Wednesday, when the case come up for hearing, counsel to the plaintiff, Mr. Adeola Adedipe, SAN, tell the court say dem ready to proceed. But the defense teams claim say dem no receive the necessary documents, including the plaintiff’s counter affidavit and preliminary objection.
Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu stress the importance of proper document service and overrule the plaintiff’s request to proceed immediately. She adjourn the matter till November 20 for the hearing of all pending applications.
The case dey generate significant public interest because of the high-profile nature of the defendants, especially Ganduje, who be former Governor of Kano State.
