Following the recent tanker explosion in Jigawa State, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of road users by enforcing rigorous safety inspections on tankers before they are allowed to load.
The FRSC has made it clear that no tanker will be permitted to load without first passing through a series of strict safety checks. This measure is aimed at preventing such tragic incidents in the future and safeguarding the lives of both the tanker drivers and other road users.
The Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Shehu Mohammed, has commiserated with the families of the victims and the Government of Jigawa State over the unfortunate incident. He emphasized the importance of these safety checks in reducing the risk of accidents involving tankers.
This enforcement is part of a broader strategy to enhance road safety across Nigeria, particularly focusing on vehicles that carry hazardous materials like fuel tankers.
