JAMB Scores Fire Up! 17K Candidates Score 300 Plus for 2025 UTME

ABUJA, Nigeria — The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) don announce dat for di 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), a total of 17,025 candidates, wey be 0.88 percent of di total 1,931,467 candidates, score 300 and above. Out of di total results wey dem release in 2025, 1,931,467 dey represent for 100 percent of di candidates wey sit for di examination.

Dis number dey higher as e pass 1,842,364 results wey dem release in 2024, and it dey show say more and more candidates dey participate for di UTME year by year. For reference, only 8,401 candidates (0.46 percent) score 300 and above in 2024, while 5,318 (0.35 percent) do am in 2023. Before den, for 2021, na only 724 candidates (0.06 percent) fit reach dat 300 mark, and nobody score am for 2014 and 2013.

For scores wey dey 250 and above, 117,373 candidates (6.08 percent) meet dis target in 2025, an increase from 77,070 (4.18 percent) in 2024 and 56,736 (3.73 percent) in 2023. Similarly, di report reveal say 565,988 candidates, which be 29.3 percent, score 200 and above, compared to 439,961 (24 percent) in 2024 and 355,689 (23.36 percent) in 2023. However, still plenty candidates — 1,365,479 (70.7 percent) — score below 200 in 2025, though e don reduce from 76 percent in 2024 and 76.64 percent in 2023.

PUNCH Online report say JAMB don release di results of di resit examination wey dem conduct for candidates wey suffer from technical errors during di 2025 UTME. Di initial results for dis year’s UTME bin come out on May 9, but for May 14, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, di JAMB Registrar, don disclose say technical glitches affect di results of 379,997 candidates across 157 centres in Lagos and di South-East.

Di registrar confirm say affected candidates need to retake di exam, and e say di issues come from faulty server updates wey stop di proper upload of candidates’ answers during di first three days of di examination.
