Abuja, Nigeria – E be like small pikin show don bless 85 young scholars as Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) don announce say dem don clear dem for special admission into tertiary schools. Dis news drop for Monday as JAMB media oga, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, release statement wey make everybody dey gree.
According to the statement, these 85 candidates all dey under 16 years as of September 2025, and dem na the ones wey pass JAMB law of survival for exceptional students. After JAMB check well-well, dem don notify the candidates make dem begin pack waya go their respective schools make dem complete their admission process and print their JAMB admission letters (abeg, no lose am o!).
Dis whole situation be like Olympic Games for young geniuses because na 85 candidates out of over 2 million wey registered for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) go fit run dis race. Out of 2,031,133 candidates, only 41,027 run under the special category. Only 599 of dem meet the 80% benchmark – and see ehn, na them wey wey subject to extra scrutiny of their school certificates before dem finally select 85 naija under 16 warriors.
JAMB explain say, for dis special screening, dem break am down into phases. First phase na when 41,027 candidates apply; second phase, dem check dem school result and feel sharp during POST-UTME screening. From there, dem come shortlist 182 candidates. Na final phase wey be the tough one. After interviewing and screening, only 85 fit be the winners (e no easy o!).
For those wey don drop ball and miss dem final interview, JAMB don ginger dem say make dem submit request through dem support system. Dem go check each matter one-by-one (as dem no wan hear “I go remember next time” again!). Dem say make sure say nobody miss dis opportunity sharp sharp.
Also, make we dey ginger those wey score 320 plus in UTME but fail to upload their O-Level results; JAMB don give dem chance to make am happen before Wednesday, 29th October, 2025. Time waka fast o! (E no dey joke wey be number 2 please!).
Make we no forget, JAMB dey serious about maintaining integrity, transparency, and inclusiveness for our educational sector. Na serious matter be this! Even as some people dey shout about the age policy wey say only children wey don clock 16 years by August 2025 fit enter school, dem don find way to make sure dem still fit connect young talents to big future.
So, if you be one of the underage candidates wey don shine bright, congrats! And if you no make am this time, no vex, your turn go come soon, we dey pray for una! Make we carry last as usual but still stand gidigba for our education.
