Atalanta coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, don talk say international duty for Nigeria affect Ademola Lookman‘s fitness. Dis happen after Atalanta win Venezia 2-0 for Italian Serie A match on October 20, 2024.
Gasperini explain say Lookman no fit play well because of him fitness levels after him return from Nigeria’s international duty in Libya. “He struggle to get back and help out in defence, so he no dey play for the team. Venezia dey improve and I need to tie the team together more,” Gasperini tell DAZN.
Lookman even hit the crossbar with one shot, but Gasperini still decide to substitute am. On the other hand, Mateo Retegui impress well, scoring the second goal for Atalanta and consolidating him position as Capocannoniere.
Gasperini also talk about Nicolò Zaniolo, who come off the bench but no make much impact. “I watch the performances like you do and draw my conclusions,” Gasperini add. “We expect a lot more. He put in the effort, but he must not give up on situations and fall down so often. I hope we can get him there.”
