Gunmen wey dey suspect to be cultists invade Edeoha community for Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, kill four residents early Sunday morning.
The attackers, wey people believe be members of the Iceland cult group, storm the community around 2 am with sophisticated weapons and assault rifles, shooting everywhere and going from house to house in search of their targets.
A source from the community, who no want his name mentioned, say the whole community dey in confusion when the gunmen come and start shooting. Three of those killed be natives of Edeoha, while the other one be native of Ekata community still in Ahoada East LGA but dey live in Edeoha.
The people wey dem kill no be cult members, but the attack believe say na cultists carry am out, maybe dem get paid by some bad people to eliminate the four residents over some unclear issues.
The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirm the incident and say it be cult-related. She say the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Mustapha, don direct the Ahoada Area Commander and the Divisional Police Officer to start investigation to catch the perpetrators and make dem face justice.
Edeoha community dey accessible by road from Mbiama-Ahoada highway and also surrounded by creeks and rivers, which sometimes hoodlums take advantage of.
