Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State don launch one new employment portal wey go help reduce unemployment among youths for the state. The portal, wey dem call Arise Youth Employment Portal, na digital platform wey go provide job opportunities across different sectors.
During the launch at Ibom Icon Hotels and Golf Resort in Uyo, Governor Eno reaffirm his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and poverty reduction. He say the portal na fulfillment of the promise he make to the youths during the Youth Engagement Rally in September.
The Arise Youth Employment Portal go serve as one-stop site for all employment-related activities in the state. Job opportunities go be segmented according to skill sets, and employers from both the civil service and private sector go use the portal to recruit talented youths.
Governor Eno emphasize say the portal go handle essential processes like aptitude and skills tests, especially for those seeking civil service positions. He also announce plans to inaugurate a State Labour Committee to oversee the employment process and ensure transparency and fairness.
The portal, wey dey accessible at https://employment.akwaibomstate.gov.ng, go be used for recruitment into the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service, the 5,000 youths empowerment program, the Dakkada Skill Acquisition Training Programmes, and recruitment into the Ibom Community Watch among others.
Governor Eno also mention say over 200 youths dey receive training at the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre (DASAC) and pledge continued support through business support schemes.
