Gov. Abiodun Promise Stronger Ties Wit Retirees for Ogun State Development

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, don promise say im go work closely wit retirees for de state to make sure say public service dey develop well-well.

Dis promise dey come after dem give am ‘Special Appreciation Award’ for paying monthly pensions regularly and for starting to pay gratuities again.

The award na the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries in Ogun State give am. Dem present the award during the 25th anniversary and the 2024 Annual General Meeting of the association, wey hold for ARHSPS Secretariat, Abiola Way, Abeokuta.

The state Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, represent the governor and dem commend am for increasing the quarterly release of gratuity and for recognizing pensioners and elderly people in the distribution of palliative initiatives wey the government put in place.

In im speech, Abiodun congratulate all the members of the association for their contributions to the state, saying their legacies in the public service no be small thing. He say their dedication and service form the foundation of the successes of governance and public administration in the state.

Abiodun promise say im administration go remain committed to honouring and respecting their efforts. He say, “Our administration remains committed to promoting a strong and fruitful partnership with your association in the collective effort to advance the development of the public service and the state as a whole.”

He also thank the association for the special recognition award and say the feat being recognised no be possible without the support of all stakeholders.

Other people wey receive awards at the event include 93-year-old Chief Oluneye Okuboyejo, who be the oldest member of the association, and Otunba Babatunde Osokoya, Elder Adekunle Anwoo, Godwin Ogun, Pastor Oyenuga Ositelu, Nuraini Adeleke, Princess Iyabo Odulate, and Funmilayo Lewis, among others.

Dem also give posthumous awards to Chief A.A.K. Degun, Chief T.A. Taiwo, and Chief E.V.O. Koleoso, amongst others.
