Ekiti State, Nigeria – E be like say wahala dey cook for Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) recently, as dem don come back from six-month leave. The man wey dey control the show, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, don resume duty since October 14, 2025, and the Congress of Nigeria University Academics (CONUA) no wan make any gbege happen.
For one statement wey Dr. (Mrs.) Ene Awe, local acting chair for CONUA, sign, dem talk say as e be, peace dey necessary for the university right now. Na so e go fit help dem achieve plenty things wey suppose happen sharp-sharp. I mean, how you go take graduate if everybody dey fight?
Dem don get big things wey dey come up, like accreditation for Law, medical and Arts programs. No be small tin o! Plus, fresh students go dey matriculate and 2024/2026 graduands go celebrate dem convocation. Na festival be dat, abeg!
Dr. Awe come dey para for all the unions say make dem no spoil the party. She talk am clear say, “This university na our own, no one person or group fit hold am to ransom. Everybody gatz fit carry dem cross and solve issues wey concern us like normal paddy-paddy people.”
Wetin she talk pain dem? She don call on honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, make e beg all the union heads for FUOYE make dem allow peace reign, so that better things fit happen. Na peaceful approach, no violence. Make we no dey follow style of ‘fight first, reason later’.
Infact, as usual, Prof. Fasina don do well since e take over, and all stakeholders don benefit from him correct leadership. Dem no wan hear any bad mouth for mouth from any member wey dey pursue their own selfish agenda against the overall betterment of FUOYE.
