Flamingos De Finish Group Stage Wit 100% Win Rate for U-17 WWC

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s football team, de Flamingos, don dey on fire for de ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Dem finish de group stage wit a perfect record, winning all three of their matches.

Dem start by beating New Zealand 4-1, den dem thrash Ecuador 4-0 in their second game. On Wednesday, dem clinch a hard-fought 1-0 victory over de host nation, Dominican Republic, thanks to Shakirat Moshood’s 89th-minute goal.

De match against Dominican Republic draw a record crowd of 13,535 fans, de highest ever attendance for any Dominican Republic National Team football match. Coach Bankole Olowookere express satisfaction wit de team’s performance, saying, “I’m so happy; I’m happy for myself, happy for de team, and happy for de whole of Nigeria.”

Olowookere also explain dat de team’s game plan was to conserve energy since dem still have quarterfinals ahead. “We knew in dis match we had to manage our energy and strength; dese are young girls wit many games to play, so we had to take it easy,” he said.

De Flamingos will now face de United States in de quarterfinals on Saturday, a rematch of their 2022 encounter in India where Nigeria won 4-3 on penalties. Olowookere say dem are ready for de game and will work on their tactical plan ahead of de clash.
