On Tuesday, 22 October 2024, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) confirm say five of their personnel die in a road accident along Jos-Akwanga expressway. The incident happen when the vehicle wey the personnel dey inside collide with an oncoming truck.
The NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, release a statement to announce the sad news. He say the personnel were on their way to Abuja for a sporting event when the accident occur around Hawan Kibo along the Jos-Akwanga Express Road.
Akinboyewa state say, “The Nigerian Air Force deeply regrets to announce the loss of 5 of our gallant personnel who were involved in a tragic road traffic accident on 22 October 2024.” He add say the NAF don activate statutory administrative protocols to provide comfort and support to the bereaved families.
The NAF appeal to the public to respect the privacy of the victims’ families during this difficult time and to refrain from sharing unverified details. They pray say the souls of the deceased rest in perfect peace.
