FG Don Set 3-Year Ban for Students Wey Cheat for Exam

Abuja, Nigeria — E don happen! Federal Government don start serious waka to face examination malpractice wey dey scatter our education system for Naija. Any student wey catch red-handed cheating for national exams like WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB go receive three-year ban from all external examinations. If you dey laugh, just know say no be joke, o! This new law na big deal.

We hear say this directive come from the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and e sign am well well. Dr. Alausa talk say na time to put things for order as this one dey follow Sections 5(1)(c)(iv) and 6 of the JAMB Act. As per this new law, dem go use una National Identification Number (NIN) to track students wey cheat and show dem road out for three years. Na serious measure to make everybody fear to do anyhow.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Public Communication Advisor for JAMB, make am clear say dis policy go cover everybody wey dey involve in exam wahala — from students to schools and even Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres. Any school wey dey act like miracle centre fit face derecognition, and if you see one school dey catch am red-handed, all the other exam bodies like WAEC, NECO go follow suit to punish dem together. Na so dem go take show operators of miracle centres say dem no go allow any funny business to happen again.

This ban sabi dey fit surprise some pipo, but Dr. Alausa and JAMB dey very serious about this matter. E be like say dem don tire for all these nonsense wey dey spoil education for our obodo Nigeria. Dey even talk say scared students and parents need to stay off any cheating rubbish, if dem wan see dem children succeed. Dr. Folasade Boriowo, the Ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, come add say dis wahala don dey serious as e dey affect our development in human capital.

For August, we go see how dis serious law go affect schools wey dey chop money for miracle centres. Schools and CBT centres wey fall hand go face derecognition, and other exam bodies go ensure dat sanctions no fit escape dem. E mean say if you get bad report from one body, all of dem go use am to ban you at once. This way, dem go quench the hunger wey “miracle centres” don develop for students to cheat for exams.

No be small matter we dey talk here o! JAMB even reveal say over 3,000 students don dey suspect for this year UTME exam, as dem don catch dem red-handed for different cheating schemes. Dem don already start to dey arrest some of these culprits, and e no go small when dem start to talk say dem go withdraw results if dem verify say any student get hand for the shaking things.

All dis na reason why we suppose shout abeg! We all need to join hands together to fight against examination malpractice so that our education fit regain better credibility. If you see something wey no gree, report am! Naija education no dey fit afford to joke with this wahala because we dey talk about our future. Wetin you dey expect? This na serious matter, my padi!
