WAEC don release 2026 WASSCE timetable, exam go start April 21

Oya make we yarn am straight. WAEC don finally release di timetable for 2026 WASSCE for school candidates. Na big news for all di students wey dey prepare for dis exam wey dey important pass. Di council drop am for dia official X handle on Monday, and di whole schedule dey clear like daylight.

Di exam go start on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. E go run reach Friday, June 19, 2026. Dat na almost two months of serious paper writing. Di first papers wey go open di floor na Foods and Nutrition 3 (Practical) Planning Session and Home Management 3 (Practical) Planning Session. So all di students wey dey do home economics subjects, una time don come.

WAEC talk say make all candidates check di timetable well well. No make mistake. Plan your revision schedule, know your subjects, and no come late for centre. Di council don warn say strict rules go dey for 2026 exam to make sure everything fair. Extra security measures go dey all centres to prevent any form of cheating or malpractice.

Dis WASSCE na serious requirement for secondary school students wey wan enter university or any tertiary institution. E cover core subjects like English Language and Mathematics, plus plenty elective subjects for sciences, arts, humanities, and vocational areas. Di exam go hold for all WAEC member countries at di same time—Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia.

Just three days before dis announcement, WAEC don release results for 2026 First Series of Computer-Based WASSCE for private candidates. Dat one hold between January 28 and February 14, 2026. Total registered candidates na 10,523, wey be say e increase by 11.49 percent from 9,438 for 2025. Out of dat number, 10,480 actually sit for di exam across 166 centres for Nigeria.

Marking of scripts and coordination of examiners happen for three centres—Lagos, Enugu, and Kaduna—between February 26 and March 13. About 608 examiners participate for di process. WAEC also mention say 43 candidates with special needs take part. Dem include 11 visually impaired candidates, four with hearing impairments, and four albinos. Di council talk say dem provide adequate support to make sure di exam process smooth for dem.

Breakdown of participation show say 5,106 candidates (48.72 percent) na male, while 5,374 candidates (51.28 percent) na female. According to WAEC, 8,418 candidates (80.32 percent) don get dia results fully processed and released. But 2,062 candidates (19.68 percent) still dey wait for some of dia results wey dey processed because of errors wey traceable to dem.
