FG dey Worsen Hardship for Nigerians

Nigerians still dey suffer under the 16-month-old administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as economic hardship continue to bite hard. Recent developments show say the Federal Government policies no dey ease the suffering of the people.

One of the major issues wey dey cause hardship na the removal of fuel subsidy. Although the Tinubu Media Team say the removal of fuel subsidy don free trillions of Naira from the fiscal burden, many Nigerians no see the benefit. Instead, fuel prices don rise sharply, making life harder for ordinary people.

Another challenge be the plan by the Federal Government to reintroduce a 5% excise duty on the telecommunications sector. Telecom firms don reject this proposal, warning that it could significantly burden the industry and increase the cost of services for consumers.

The issue of local government autonomy also dey add to the tension. The Federal Government don vow to implement the Supreme Court ruling on LG autonomy, which means states wey no conduct LG elections may face sanctions, including the seizure of their federal allocations. This could affect the salaries of traditional rulers, teachers, and local government staff in states like Ondo, Osun, Katsina, and others.

As things stand now, Nigerians still dey wait for respite from the economic hardships. The rising costs of living, combined with these new policies, make it difficult for many people to make ends meet.
