Emirates, one of the top airlines in the world, don announce say dem go take delivery of 14 new Boeing 777 Freighters from now till 2026. Dis new order include five additional 777 Freighters wey dem order recently, on top of the ones dem already order before.
With dis new order, Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo division of Emirates, go nearly double their current fleet of 11 freighters to 21. Dis move dey come as demand for air cargo services dey increase sharply. According to HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, “Demand for Emirates’ air cargo services has been booming. This reflects Dubai’s growing prominence as a preferred and trusted global logistics hub, and also the success of Emirates SkyCargo’s bespoke solutions that address the needs of shippers in different industry sectors”.
The Boeing 777 Freighter na one of the best cargo planes in the world, with the ability to fly up to 9,200 kilometres (4,970 nautical miles) and carry up to 102 tonnes of freight. Dis capability go help Emirates SkyCargo to fly more freight on more nonstop routes, connecting important cargo markets like the Middle East with the U.S. and Europe.
Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, praise Emirates for their trust in Boeing’s widebody family of aircraft.
