EFCC Arraign Man for N8.1 Million Land Fraud for Enugu

On Saturday, October 19, 2024, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned one Paulinus Ani before a Federal High Court in Enugu over allegations of N8.1 million land fraud. The case, which is being handled by the Enugu Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, involves Ani’s alleged involvement in a land scam that has been prevalent in the region.

According to reports, Ani was brought before the court on charges related to obtaining money under false pretenses. The EFCC has been actively working to combat land fraud in Enugu, as such scams have become increasingly common in the area.

The court proceedings saw the EFCC presenting its case against Ani, with the prosecution urging the court to take serious action against the defendant. The court is expected to continue the case in the coming days as more evidence is presented.

This arraignment is part of the EFCC’s broader efforts to tackle financial crimes and fraud across Nigeria, particularly in regions where such activities are on the rise.
