A 15-year-old school girl from Delta State, Emmanuella Monday, has come forward with a shocking allegation that her mother is forcing her into prostitution. Emmanuella, who is in Senior Secondary School 2 at Triumphant School in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, made this revelation in a video seen by PUNCH Metro.
According to Emmanuella, her biological mother has been taking her to meet various men for sexual exploitation. She recounted an incident where her mother took her to Beeland Hotel at Orhuworun Road, Udu Local Government Area, to meet a man known as an ‘Aboki man’ after church on Sunday. Her mother left her there and did not return until late in the evening.
Emmanuella managed to escape from the hotel room when the man went to take a bath. She then found her way to a friend’s house and stayed there overnight before reporting the incident to her teacher on Monday morning.
This is not the first time Emmanuella’s mother has allegedly involved her in such activities. The girl stated that her mother has been concerned about her getting married and has taken her to meet different men on several occasions.
When contacted, Emmanuella’s mother, Mrs. Eunice Asulie, claimed that her daughter had been missing from home and that she had reported the matter to the police. However, the school proprietress, Mrs. Magareth Oghuvwu, confirmed that Emmanuella had come to school on Monday, sobbing and narrating her ordeal.
The school management has since contacted law enforcement agents and human rights groups to intervene in the matter. A human rights activist, Comrade Ighorhiohwunu Aghogho, has also petitioned the Delta State office of the National Human Rights Commission to seek justice for Emmanuella.
