Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, don talk say interfaith and intertribal unions dey bring plenty benefits to families in Cross River State. He talk dis one during the two-day Interfaith Unity Conference of Jama’atu Nasril Islam on Tuesday.
Otu emphasize say these unions dey promote peaceful co-existence among people. He urge those wey dey think of secession or breaking Nigeria apart to stop such thoughts, saying Nigeria’s unity no dey breakable.
He say, “Plenty families in Cross River State don benefit well-well from cross-tribal and interfaith unions. So, hosting dis event be blessing for all of us because interfaith collaboration very important for today’s Nigeria.”
Otu add say, “We come into dis world with nothing and we go leave with nothing. The problems we face come from division, lack of understanding, and inability to love one another. In Cross River, everybody dey embraced.”
The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, also praise Governor Otu for his efforts in promoting inter-faith harmony and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria. The Sultan commend Otu during his visit to Calabar where he was a special guest.
The Sultan hail Otu’s commitment to unity and peace, both within Cross River State and across Nigeria. He applaud Otu’s steadfast efforts in fostering harmony among different tribes and faiths during the Unity Conference in Calabar.
