ASUU Don Strike Again,Students Dey Run From School Like Say Na Fire!

ABUJA, Nigeria – E be like say naija education system don enter serious wahala again as lecturers for public universities don enter two-week strike since October 13, 2025. This strike come just weeks after dem resume for new academic session. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), led by their big paddy, Professor Chris Piwuna, talk say na government jaga jaga make dem take this action. E no dey funny at all!

The federal government don dey beg these lecturers make dem reason am well, say make dem sit down talk since na constructive dialogue go fit solve the matter. But with the talks dey loose like wet soap, them don threat say anybody wey strike go no chop salary under di “No Work, No Pay” law. E no sweet!

ASUU don dey carry out strikes since 1980s, and this na just another leaf for the same chapter. We get past agreements from 1992, 2009, and 2013 wey don fade away like wet weather. The last one last eight months, na wah! So as dis strike don start now, we fit say na double wahala for students wey ready finally to settle down for class.

As students dem dey pack their bags for places like University of Lagos, Ahmadu Bello University, and Obafemi Awolowo University, NANS, the National Association of Nigerian Students, don come out put mouth for matter, calling the strike “anti-student” and dey shine eye on the government make dem do something sharp sharp before e turn to last year long vacation.

Education Minister, Dr. Tunji Alausa no wan carry last. E send msg to vice-chancellors make dem ensure dem no pay lecturers during dis strike period o. Dem dey take this matter serious as dem dey roll call and send report on who dey ground and who don waka go do anything else.

Experts for labor matter dey warn say if government dey take dis strong approach, tension go dey add up. NLC, the Nigerian Labour Congress, sabi say dem dey with ASUU side, dey call for more dialogue. For dis matter wey don involve over 1.5 million students, millions dey put their future for line. This na serious matter! We just dey hope say make dem sit down talk before dem spoil dem selves again.
