Dem carry placards, dey sing solidarity songs, and no be small wahala dey about to happen if dem no hear from the government soon. Wetin dem dey shout? Make we just summarize am: Government make una fulfill una 2009 promise, return their withheld salaries (that 3.5 months dey choke), settle una 25-35% salary arrears, and most importantly, stop their unserious loan scheme wey go just scatter everything!

For OAU, ASUU Chairperson, Prof. Tony Odiwe, vex as e dey talk say dem don dey manage the same salary scale since 2009 sef. He no gree hide am; he accuse the government of playing games with their lives, especially after dem submit report for Yayale Ahmed renegotiation committee back in February 2025. Na serious matter! If dem continue this way, he don warn say gidi gidi, na the government go face the noise if them go strike again.

For their own side for FUOYE, ASUU’s Akure Zonal Coordinator, Prof. Adeola Egbedokun shook mouth say patience don dey run low for academics. “We dey manage for empty stomach, live for debt, and basic needs don dey far away. If government want play rough, make dem carry all the wahala!”

Uniosun’s Dr. Wende Olaosebikan dey complain about non-payment of increments, and even cry say some lecturers dey face victimisation. Hmmm, government, no be wetin dem dey vie for so wata go find somebody inside your pot!
