Akwa Ibom Gov, Pastor Umo Eno, Announce N80,000 as New Minimum Wage

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, don announce new minimum wage of N80,000 for all state government employees. Dis announcement come out on Wednesday through a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong.

The new minimum wage go affect all civil servants wey dey work for Akwa Ibom State government. To make sure dis policy dey implemented smoothly, Governor Eno set up an implementation committee wey go submit their report within one month on how dem go execute the wage increase.

The implementation committee go be chaired by the Head of the state Civil Service, Mr Effiong Essien, and include 15 senior government officials. Some of the members include Chairman, State Civil Service Commission, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, and others.

The statement from the Commissioner for Information say, “The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced that the State Government will pay a new minimum wage of N80,000 for all state government employees.”

This move dey seen as a significant step to improve the welfare of civil servants in Akwa Ibom State.
