On October 23, 2024, AEW Dynamite bring plenty action and drama from the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The show start with Jon Moxley, who come out with another video package, talking about the new era and the chaos him and his crew been causing since WrestleDream. Moxley say that just a little piece of someone will be destroyed forever, but for their own good and the greater good.
The first match of the night see Sammy Guevara, the ROH World Tag Team Champion, facing off against Shelton Benjamin, who was accompanied by MVP. Shelton Benjamin dominate the match from the start, showing off his powerhouse abilities and eventually getting the pin after a series of big power moves, including a German suplex and a powerslam.
Backstage, there was a brawl between Mariah May and Anna Jay. Mariah May no believe Anna Jay belong in the same locker room, so she take Anna’s suitcase and throw her belongings down the corridor. The two wrestlers end up in a brief pull-apart brawl.
Kyle Fletcher also make an appearance, addressing his recent actions against Will Ospreay. Fletcher explain that he tired of being compared to Ospreay and say he bigger, stronger, faster, and better than him in every way. He challenge Ospreay to a match next week, promising to send him back to the hospital bed for longer than 11 days.
In another significant match, Mark Briscoe defend the ROH World Championship against Chris Jericho in a Ladder War. The match was intense, with both men using tables and ladders to gain the upper hand. However, Chris Jericho emerge as the new ROH Champion after Big Bill chokeslam Briscoe and carry Jericho up the ladder to retrieve the title.
The show also feature other matches, including The Elite (Jack Perry and The Young Bucks) vs. Daniel Garcia and Private Party, and House of Black in action. Additionally, HOOK promise to confront the attacker(s) of his father, Taz.
