Abia Workers Go Receive N70,000 Minimum Wage From October

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State don approve the payment of N70,000 as the new minimum wage for Abia workers, and the payment go start from the end of October 2024. This announcement was made by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu.

This move follow the recent approval by President Bola Tinubu of a new national minimum wage of N70,000 for civil servants across Nigeria. Governor Otti’s decision dey in line with the federal government’s directive, and it go bring relief to many workers in the state who have been waiting for this increase.

The payment of the new minimum wage is expected to boost the morale of civil servants in Abia State and help them cope with the current economic challenges. Other states have also been urged to follow suit and implement the new minimum wage to ensure fairness and equity for all workers.
