Senator Condemn Benue Killings, Urge Govt Action

Senator Titus Zam, wey dey represent Benue North-West Senatorial District, don condemn de persistent attacks and killings of people in Benue, especially in de Gwer-West Local Government Area, by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Zam make dis statement on Tuesday, reacting to last week’s attack along de Makurdi-Naka Road, which claim several lives. He call on President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia to intervene urgently to end de killings.

De senator express dismay over what he term deliberate and unprovoked attacks on de people of Gwer-West and Benue in general. He say, “Despite our rigorous efforts, de killings persist. I condemn these deliberate and unprovoked attacks, particularly de most recent along de Makurdi-Naka Road.”

Zam also mention de open grazing prohibition and ranching establishment bill, which he present before de Senate, as key to ending these killings. He extend his condolences to de affected communities and urge Tinubu and Alia to address de insecurity plaguing Benue.

He call on security agencies to intensify their efforts to protect residents, especially vulnerable groups such as women, children, and de elderly. Multiple sources say not less than 500 residents of Gwer-West have been killed by suspected herdsmen attacks since 2011.
