Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, don dey take serious action to ensure say di people of Osun State dey safe. Him direct di Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to stop heavy-duty trucks from using di Olaiya Bridge in Osogbo, di state capital.
Di reason for dis decision na because of safety concerns. Technical reports show say di bridge no dey in good condition, and if heavy trucks continue to use am, e fit collapse and cause serious accidents.
According to statement from di governor’s spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke make dis decision after presiding over a security council meeting in Osogbo. Him say di move na precautionary measure to protect di bridge and prevent any bad thing from happening.
Adeleke instruct di Ministry to erect barricades across di bridge, allowing only cars and buses to pass through. Him also ask dem to issue travel advisory, supported by radio jingles, to inform di public and those in di transport sector about di new rule.
