Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) don query the way Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa dey spend money for the past 10 months, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) no dey agree with dem.
According to the PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Kennedy Peretei, the Aiyedatiwa government don spend state resources on projects wey no dey exist. Dem talk say on 22nd July 2024, more than N35 billion dey approved for asphalt overlay of roads in some local government areas, but three months later, the roads still dey the same way dem be before the contract awards.
Dem also mention say N217,881,308.00 dey approved for the renovation of the deputy governor’s lodge, but the Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, still dey stay in hotel with taxpayers’ money. The PDP say the money wey dem waste on hotel accommodation for the deputy governor would have been enough to renovate his official residence.
The APC Director of Publicity, Steve Otaloro, counter the PDP claims, say their allegations be false and full of inaccuracies. Otaloro talk say the PDP 12-year reign in Ondo State no yield any tangible results, and dem no get credible alternative to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s achievements. He say the PDP dey resort to name-calling and lies because dem no fit present any issue-based campaign.
Otaloro add say the APC focus on progress and no dey do political point-scoring. He urge the public to discern the truth from the PDP’s allegations and propaganda.
