Lagos State Government don arrest five people, including one birthday celebrant and one event planner, for blocking road and causing environmental nuisance. The arrest happen on Saturday, October 19, 2024, for blocking Raymond Njoku Road in Southwest Ikoyi during a birthday celebration.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, talk say the individuals wey dem arrest include Omolara Ajetumobi, the event planner; Ogundare Olubunmi, the celebrant; Ayodele Busuyi, a musician; Owoeye Adedayo, the sound engineer; and Akinola Akinkunmi, a vendor involved in the event.
Wahab say the celebratory event cause significant traffic congestion and littering, which inconvenience residents and motorists. The Lagos State Government dey emphasize say nobody dey above the law and dem no go permit any disregard of state regulations.
The suspects go face trial in court in accordance with the laws of the state. Dis development be part of broader crackdown by Lagos State Government on activities that disrupt public life and violate environmental standards.
