The Niger State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) don make it clear say dem no go accept any delay or reduction in the implementation of the new minimum wage. Dem say workers must receive the full amount of the new minimum wage for October, no matter the challenges.
In a recent statement, labour leaders reveal say dem ready to accept delay in the payment of October salaries if that be what it will take to ensure the full implementation of the new minimum wage. Dis move show say labour dey committed to fighting for the rights of workers in the state.
The insistence on the new minimum wage comes at a time when many Nigerian workers still dey struggle with low wages and rising costs of living, especially with the recent increase in fuel prices. Labour leaders believe say the new minimum wage go help workers cope with the economic challenges.
